Workshops

 I provide all materials and equipment needed for all of my in person workshops—there’s no need to bring anything. Just turn up with an open mind, ready to relax, create, and be inspired!'

Both my online and in person workshops are suitable for all abilities, designed to explore the wide range of methods I use in my work. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, my workshops provide a relaxed, encouraging environment for exploration. We’ll cover a range of my embroidery techniques allowing you to create your own unique textile piece. With step-by-step guidance and personalised support, you’ll develop your skills at your own pace.

I offer a wide range of workshops and talks as a visiting artist for colleges, schools, galleries, shops, and textile groups across the UK.

Full Day Workshops
(up to 6 hours)
My full-day workshops are priced at £330 for up to 12 participants, with all materials included. Travel is charged at 55p per mile from Loughborough. For groups larger than 12 participants, an additional charge of £15 per person applies.

Half Day/Evening Workshops
(up to 3 hours)
For half-day or evening workshops, the fee is £230 for up to 12 participants, with all materials included. Travel is charged at 55p per mile from Loughborough. An additional charge of £15 per participant applies for groups larger than 12.
 
The Textile Florist Talk (my talk lasts 50-60 minutes, followed by time for questions and discussion)
With 14 years of experience, I launched my creative business straight after graduating from University. My background in Fine Art and Textiles continues to shape my evolving process and embroidery. Step into my world and explore how my approach has grown and flourished over time.
I offer my talk for £170 plus travel at 55p per mile from Loughborough. Each talk lasts 50-60 minutes, followed by time for questions and discussion.

Wall Hanging Workshop

My most popular workshop invites you to explore my original wall hanging method, developed in my early work. You can create your piece in either landscape or portrait format. The focus is on building rich, tactile layers using stitch and appliqué. Whether you design a detailed meadow scene or a more abstract composition, you'll begin by creating a textured fabric base. Colour is then added to bring depth and atmosphere. I’ll guide you through my personal embroidery techniques and share a variety of surface decoration methods to help you apply the finishing touches and enhance the beauty of your unique textile artwork.

Exploring Textile Surfaces Workshop

This workshop encourages creative exploration, focusing less on the final outcome and more on the joy of the process. It’s an opportunity to loosen up, experiment, and push the boundaries of soft materials through playful layering with both paint and stitch. You'll be guided to explore freely, discovering new techniques and ways to build texture and depth using fabric, thread, and mixed media. Ideal for artists and makers looking to refresh their practice, this session invites curiosity, spontaneity, and creative freedom—helping you develop new ideas and approaches to carry into your own artistic work. Mixed Media Meadow Workshop

In this creative workshop, you’ll make two unframed mixed media meadow landscapes using layered fabrics, hand stitching, and embellishments. Working on a sturdy base, you'll explore texture through slow stitching techniques like appliqué, couching, and embroidery. Guided step-by-step, you’ll learn how to build rich, tactile scenes inspired by wild meadows. gardens and landscapes. This relaxing session is perfect for beginners and experienced stitchers alike, offering a peaceful space to experiment and create. All materials are included, and you’ll leave with two beautiful, handmade textile pieces—plus the skills and inspiration to continue your stitching journey at home.

3D Embroidered Wrap Workshop

​In this workshop, you will create your own 3D textile wrap using contemporary mixed media techniques and textural applique. Whether you choose to design a landscape or an abstract piece, the day begins by building surface texture with hand-stitching. Once your base is established, you'll apply your chosen colour scheme using paint, adding depth and vibrancy to your work. The piece will then be enhanced with embroidery, fibre techniques, and textural applique, before being carefully constructed into the round. Your finished piece will stand alone as a sculptural textile or can be designed to wrap around a vase or jar.

Circle of Stitch Workshop

This new workshop is inspired by overgrown surfaces and florals, where you will learn contemporary embroidery and my textural hand stitch techniques. You’ll create your own textured circle of stitch, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of flowers and foliage. Using a variety of beautiful materials, you’ll adorn your piece with rich textures and colours, exploring different embroidery methods to bring your design to life. The workshop will guide you through finishing your piece with fine detailing and appliqué, adding layers of interest and depth. By the end, you’ll have a unique, textural embroidery piece to frames.

Christmas Tree Wall Hanging Workshop

In this brand new festive workshop, you’ll create your own beautiful festive wall hanging while exploring construction and hand embroidery techniques. Begin by choosing your initial shape and background. Learn how to build up layers of texture, colour, and applique with hand-stitch, adding depth and dimension to your design. Once the base is established, you’ll finish your piece with beautiful embellishments and intricate embroidery details. This workshop is perfect for those seeking to create a unique, handmade decoration and keepsake.

​Triptych Wall Hangings Workshop
(2-day workshop)

This in-depth two-day workshop explores my signature methods, guiding you through the creation of three bespoke wall hangings that work together as a set or triptych. You will begin by experimenting with print and mark-making techniques to colour a variety of fabrics. Once you have a collection of samples, I will share my methods for constructing these pieces into three cohesive hangings, using stitch, trapping, and binding. To finish, you’ll have the option to add machine sewing, hand stitch, and tactile embellishments, allowing you to personalise and decorate your pieces, bringing them to life with texture and detail.

A Special Place Workshop

​In this workshop, you’ll create a unique textile piece inspired by a special place—perhaps a cherished memory, favourite landscape, wedding venue, or meaningful location. Working from a photo or memory, you’ll begin by painting and colouring your own fabrics to reflect the tones and mood of your chosen scene. You'll then build your piece using a wide range of textural stitching and hand embroidery techniques, bringing your landscape or view to life with layers, texture, and personal expression. This is a wonderful opportunity to translate your memories into fabric and thread, creating a beautiful and meaningful piece of textile art. You just need to bring your photo!

Christmas Decorations and Cards Workshop

In this original festive workshop, you’ll create your own beautiful festive decorations and a range of handmade cards. Begin by selecting your initial shapes, whether it’s stars, trees, or baubles, before exploring mixed media and textile techniques to add fabric layers to your designs. You’ll then embellish with delicate hand embroidery, incorporating intricate stitches to add texture and charm. To finish, decorate your creations with beautiful haberdashery, such as buttons, beads, and ribbons, to add a personal, festive touch. This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to create unique, handcrafted decorations and cards to gift.

Embroidered Wreath Workshop

In this workshop, you will create your own personalised embroidered textile wreath. Start by crafting a beautiful set of embellishments, then explore colour by painting your base fabrics. With your collection of materials, you will learn how to construct your wreath using hand stitch and contemporary applique techniques. Once your wreath takes shape, you’ll enhance it with your personal handmade adornments and haberdashery, adding a special, unique touch. Optional: While all materials will be provided, feel free to bring any fabrics with personal significance—such as bridal materials, baby clothes, or cherished haberdashery—to create a meaningful heirloom wreath.

Embroidered Flower Garden Workshop

This new workshop explores bonding techniques using beautiful fibres and soft nets. You will begin by colouring your fabric, allowing you to create a unique base for your designs. Next, you’ll explore layering different materials to build texture and depth, experimenting with various techniques to create a rich, tactile surface. The workshop will then guide you through adding delicate floral stitched details, bringing your pieces to life with intricate embellishments. By the end of the day, you will have created a set of beautiful, textured pieces to take home, each showcasing your exploration of bonding and stitch techniques.
